Party Time at All Star Lanes, Manchester

I frigging love All Star Lanes. I first reviewed them a couple of months ago, and since then we have been back about three times. I like their styling, the friendly staff, but above all... I cannot get enough of their food! They offer classic American diner style food, with the added bonus of having a bowling alley in the back.

When my friend Lucie decided to have her 30th birthday there, I was as giddy as the proverbial kipper! She was having a retro themed party with our own private lanes, and canape sized versions of the normal menu. It was so good, I thought I'd dedicate a post just to showing you the pictures!

We arrived to amazing jugs of chilled tropical cocktails, a fridge filled with wine and buckets of beer. After a few practice shots, we were off! As per usual, I was sporting the 'unusual' technique of stopping dead at the line and lobbing the ball, Paddy had a slightly better Kingpin style, and then it all went west at the end of the evening when balls were being chucked left, right and centre.
We were delivered an absolute feast! They were very large canapes... We had:
  • Sweet potato fries
  • Burgers
  • Deep fried mac n cheese
  • Cheese toasties
  • Skin on fries
  • Tacos
  • Pork wraps
  • Goat's cheese tartlets
  • Pizza
  • Pulled pork burgers
  • Shoestring fries
  • Fried chicken
  • S'mores
  • Lemon drizzle cakes

Everyone absolutely loved it! Five hours of bowling is enough to make anyone peckish... Highlights included the crispy sweet potato fries, southern fried chicken on sticks and the bite-sized s'mores. Genius. We also had some outstanding cocktails; mainly pink Roller Girls served in old fashioned bowl champagne glasses, and pineapple Alohas which came complete with naff paper umbrellas!
A massive thank you to Lucie and Kev for putting on such a fantastic spread, and to All Star Lanes for making it such a great night! I suggest you get your bowling shoes on and head down there for a bite to eat and a couple of games...

  1. Great to see the photos of all the canapes, I've been here once before and it really is the place to party! Looking forward to my next visit already :)

  2. They served slider and shrimp cakes as appetizers with chicken skewers, and eggrolls that had veggies on the inside and some kind of creamy fruit sauce on top.
